False Advertising

Tell Bush to Condemn “Swift Boat” Ad

Last week, a group of far-right Bush surrogates released an ugly and outrageous swing-state ad which claims that John Kerry faked his injuries, betrayed his troops, and "dishonored his country" in Vietnam.  The ad features people who falsely say they served with John Kerry and who make numerous provably false accusations about Kerry's war record.  It's time for these lies to stop.  That’s why we believe that:

“President Bush should publicly condemn the “Swift Boat” ad which makes false and outrageous claims about John Kerry’s war service in Vietnam.”

Fill out the form below, and we’ll deliver all of the petition comments to President Bush on the campaign trail.

A compiled petition will be presented to President Bush.

Dear President Bush:

[Your comments]

As you know, some of your current donors are running a deceptive and dishonest ad that attacks John Kerry’s war record.

Presidential politics has no place for this kind of smear campaign. As Senator McCain has suggested, please publicly condemn this false advertising and reject these tactics.

Sincerely,

Under circumstances where we determine that members may be misusing our systems for malicious purposes (for example, using the numbers we provide to make harassing phone calls), such activities may be reported to law enforcement agencies. In such cases, MoveOn may release personally identifiable information, including name and address, to those agencies.
