Stop the Reverse Robin Hood budget

We're moving into the home stretch of our campaign to stop the Reverse Robin Hood budget. The final vote in both houses of Congress will likely occur within a few weeks, and your representatives need to hear from you now.

The Republican budget proposal would slash over $50 billion in vital services from the poor and middle class, like Medicaid, food stamps and student loans. These cuts would only partially pay for $60 billion in new tax breaks for the wealthy.

Write your representatives today to tell them not to leave working families in the cold this holiday season.

Write your short letter in the box below, and we'll deliver it to your representatives before tomorrow's vote. For more information see these editorials from The Washington Post or The New York Times or this detailed report from the independent Center for Budget and Policy Priorities

Your personal note will be delivered to your representative when you click the button below.

Privacy Policy

We do not share the information you’ve given us with unaffiliated groups without your explicit permission.

Petitions and Surveys

For petitions and surveys you've signed or completed, we treat your name, city, state, and comments as public information - for example, we may provide compilations of petitions, with your comments, to the President and legislators, other targets, or to the press. We will not make your street address publicly available, but we may transmit it to members of Congress and to the President as part of a petition. This is a standard industry practice in such situations. In no such case will we disclose your email address or phone number without your permission. We may also make your comments, along with your first name, city and state available to the press and public online.

Under circumstances where we determine that members may be misusing our systems for malicious purposes (for example, using the numbers we provide to make harassing phone calls), such activities may be reported to law enforcement agencies. In such cases, MoveOn may release personally identifiable information, including name and address, to those agencies.

Sending Emails Via MoveOn.org Political Action

In certain cases, we enable you to send individual e-mails to the President, legislators, and other targets as well as Letters-to-the-Editor to various news publications, through our website. These messages are sent in your name, with your e-mail address as the return address and your full name and contact information is provided as part of the submission. These messages will only be sent out under your name as you approve them on an individual basis using our email tool. You are solely responsible for the specific message(s) you send using our email tool.
